Adsorption of Heparin-Binding Fragments of Fibronectin onto Hydrophobic Surfaces

چکیده

Fibronectin is a multi-domain, extracellular matrix protein that plays number of biological roles. As the adsorption fibronectin onto surface implanted devices can lead to an inflammatory response or bacterial colonisation, understanding interaction with material surfaces important in design materials for biomedical applications. This, however, relies on having knowledge molecular-scale behaviour proteins, which difficult investigate experimentally. In this paper, we used molecular dynamics simulations heparin-binding domains hydrophobic surfaces. Despite high similarity between these, their differs both terms strength and specificity this, indicating relatively small changes structure significant behaviour. This suggests interplay chemistry vital process novel biomaterials.
